The 2013 Joss JP1

Australia's First Supercar

In 2004 Australia decided to make their country's very first supercar. The prototype was called the Joss JT1 and after extensive and successful tests the production version called the Joss JP1 was created in 2013.
The Joss JP1 is a mid-engine rear wheel-drive supercar with an all aluminium V8 DOHC that is fuel injected and delivers 469 bhp. Naught to 62 takes an estimated 3 seconds which is incredible. Top speed is 211 mph. These performance figures aren't surprising because the JOSS Developments Limited was founded by Matthew Thomas who worked for certain successful companies such as Jaguar and Aston Martin.
Let's talk about parts, weight, and design features now. The Joss JP1 weighs 2,315 lbs. The JP1 is designed to run on 98 octane premium unleaded fuel. The chassis is a carbon fibre monocoque. The JP1 uses a 6-speed manual. The main body is carbon fibre while the strengthening frame is made of Kevlar and carbon reinforcement, and the sub-frame is made of composite honeycomb. Both the front and rear brakes are pot calipers with vented discs. The tires are from the Japanese company Toyo.
Now for the price. Should the Joss JP1 be sold in the United States it will cost $500,000. The same price applies to JP1s sold in Australia.
