The 2013 Alfa Romeo 4C

Alfa Romeo's First Car To Be Sold In America Since 1995

Have you ever wanted to buy an Alfa Romeo since 1995 but couldn't because they're weren't sold in America for a few years. Well worry no longer because Alfa Romeo is now coming back to the States and the first car to be sold there is the Alfa Romeo 4C sports car.
The Alfa Romeo 4C is a rear mid-engine rear-wheel drive sports car equipped with a 1.7 liter 1750 turbocharged I4 engine that produces 240 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm. Top speed of the 4C is 160 mph. The 4C can reach sixty-two mph in more than 4.5 seconds which is good for its class of car. With 'Race' mode on it will reach sixty-two in 4.2 seconds. In case that doesn't satisfy your need for powweeeerrrrr, Alfa Romeo announced that a new 1.8 liter engine might appear in the 4C. The 4C's engine is coupled to a 6-speed Alfa TCT Dual Dry Clutch Transmission that uses a boring flappy paddle gearbox unlike its great rival the Lotus Evora which uses a stick shift.  The 4C also has an Alfa 'DNA' dynamic control selector which controls the behavior of the engine, throttle response, brakes, suspension, and gearbox.
The 4C uses a centra carbon fiber tub for the chassis, with aluminum subframes front and rear. The carbon fiber components used to create the tub are cut using CNC technology. The body is made of carbon fiber as well. The outer body is made of a composite material that is 20% lighter than steel. The stability is said to be comparable to steel and is better than aluminum. The 4C uses double wishbone suspensions in the front and MacPherson struts at the rear. The tires used are obvious. They're Pirelli P-Zeros. The 4C also uses Brembo vented disc brakes on all of the wheels. These brakes help the car stop from 62 mph in 36 meters. The 4C has no power steering. A normal European spec 4C weighs 1,973 pounds. The Americanized version weighs an extra 220 pounds to please the feds and to increase crash resistance.
The cost of an Americanized Alfa Romeo 4C is $54,000 which is about Lotus money hence the competition from the Lotus Evora.
