The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The Latest Car To Use The Legendary Stingray Name

Have you ever wanted a Corvette that has a smoother ride and looks a little European. If so your prayers have been answered. In 2014 Chevrolet came out with a modern remake of the Corvette Stingray. And it is perhaps the best looking and best performing Corvette ever made.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray is a front mid-engine rear-wheel drive supercar equipped with a 6.2 liter V8 with direct fuel injection that delivers 455 hp normally but will deliver 460 hp with a perforated exhaust. Torque is at 460 lb-ft normally and 465 lb-ft with a perforated exhaust. Top speed is an estimated 195 mph which seems to be normal supercar speed. However the naught to sixty time is poor at 3.8 seconds, the same as a Marussia B1. The engine is coupled to either a 7-speed TREMEC TR-6070 Manual or a paddle-shifted 6-speed automatic. The engine delivers between 1,000 and 4,000 rpm.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray uses Brembo brake discs. The front and rear cradles use hollow cast aluminum with stiffer attachment points for the suspension. The shocks used are either Bilsteins or third-generation magnetic shocks. The Stingray's frame is made of aluminum. The chassis is made of hydroformed aluminum, cast aluminum, and extruded aluminum. Driving modes on the 2014 Stingray include Tour, Weather, Eco, Sport, and Track. The 2104 Stingray runs on Michelin Pilot Super Sport Run-Flats tires. Total weight of the car is 3,300 pounds.
The price for a 2014 Stingray in the United States is $53,995 which is very cheap for a supercar.
