The 1991 Bugatti EB110
A Car That Was Owned By The Legendary Michael Schumacher
In 1991 Bugatti unveiled their EB110 supercar in front of the Grande Arche at La Defense in Paris, France. The source of money behind the EB110 project has never been revealed, but what I do know is that the 110 in the EB110 name is used to commemorate founder Ettore Bugatti's 110th birthday. But enough of that. Let's learn about this amazing car.
The Bugatti EB110 is a mid-engine all-wheel drive supercar armed with a 3.5 liter quad-turbo V12 that delivers 553 hp at 8,000 rpm. That is 1,000 rpm less than the Ferrari 458 Italia. Naught to sixty-two takes 4.2 seconds which is good considering the year this car came out. Top speed is an impressive 213 mph. (I couldn't find the torque levels. sorry)
The EB110 uses a double wishbone suspension and the chassis is made by the Italian company Aerospatiale. This chassis is made of carbon fiber. The body was designed by Marcello Gandini of Bertone.
In 1992 a more powerful version of the EB110 called the EB110 SS (Supersport) was created. It had a horsepower count of 603 hp at 8,250 rpm and the top speed is 216 mph. Naught to sixty-two time was significantly increased to a whopping 3.2 seconds.
The price for a Bugatti EB110 back in the day was $350,000. That was the same price as an original Pagani Zonda when it first came into production.
