The 2014 Shelby Supercars (SSC) Tuatara

A Very Powerful Italian Looking American Hypercar

The last car to come from SSC was the Ultimate Aero which looks like a Lamborghini but drives nothing like one in my opinion. In fact my uncle thought the Ultimate Aero  drove terribly in Forza Motorsport 4. However SSC has made a new hypercar to not only go over 1,000 mph but to punch the Italians in the face. Figuratively speaking of course. That new car is called the Tuatara.
The Tuatara is a mid-engine rear-wheel drive hypercar equipped with a twin-turbocharger and twin-supercharger 6.9 liter V8 that produces a massive 1,350 hp. However if you remove the regulations it will produce 1,700 hp. That is mindless. That is wayyyyyyyyy too fast. Top speed of the Tuatara is rumored to be about 276 mph, but some say it will go to or over 300 mph. More insanity. The engine redline will be at 9,200 rpm which is 200 rpm more than the Ferrari 458 Italia. Torque will be at 1,280 lb-ft and the car will use 91-octane gasoline.
Unfortunately not much else is known about this insane car so I'll make things brief and say that the Tuatara will cost $1.3 million which seems reasonable for a car with this much poweeeeerrrrrrrrr.
If you're thinking "hey that looks Italian" you'd be right. The Tuatara is based on the Maserati Birdcage 75th Concept from 2006.
Let's hope the Italian inspiration for the Tuatara makes it drive way better than its father.
