The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
My Favorite Lamborghini
Lamborghini had big plans to make a successor for the Murcielago for 2012. What they finally created was one of the meanest, fastest, and most evil looking Lambos of all time. They call it the Aventador. The name Aventador comes from a bull that entered the Saragossa Arena in October 1993 and won the Trofeo de la Pena La Madronera.
The Aventador LP700-4 is an all-wheel drive mid-engine supercar equipped with a powerful 6.5 liter naturally aspirated engine that delivers 7000 hp @ 8,250 RPM. Torque @ RPM is 509 @ 5,500. Top speed of the Aventador is 217 mph. Naught to sixty takes 2.9 seconds. The engine is coupled to a Lamborghini ISR or Independent Shifting Rod seven-speed automated manual gearbox that combines rapid shift time with manual shifting.
The Aventador features a spoiler that is deployable and controlled electronically. The Aventador also comes in thirteen exterior colors in either pastel metallic, matte, or pearlescent. There is apparently three matte color choices available.
The Aventador comes with ABS, electronic brake distribution, ESP stability control, hill start assist, anti-slip control, and speed-dependent servo-tronic steering.
Due to the use of carbon fiber in the entire body the Aventador weighs just 3,472 lbs.
If you think the Aventador looks like an aircraft and the Reventon you'd be right. Not only that but the American airplane company Boeing Corporation helped design the body, as well as the University of Washington.
The Aventador's suspension comes straight from Formula 1 racing. It also uses a double-wishbone setup and a carbon-ceramic brake system. At the front axle are shock absorbers that are equipped with a hydraulic lifting system that allows the front end of the car to be lifted by forty millimeters with the press of a special button.
Let's talk more about the steering. The steering wheel system, combined with a dozen computer systems, analyzes how the driver has gone into a curve and adjusts steering inputs and braking to assist the car in having a better line.
As for the price of an Aventador LP700-4 it costs $387,000 which is actually pretty cheap for a supercar that borders the line between supercar and hypercar. However if you're looking to buy an Aventador you might be better off buying the new Huracan because only 4,000 Aventadors will be made. That's 99 less than the Murcielago. Plus the Aventador is extremely popular and in very high demand making acquiring the car even harder. But if you can manage to get one of these car's you'll be very grateful.
