The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Zora ZR1

Chevrolet's Answer To Mid-Engined Italian Sports Cars

When car enthusiasts learned that Chevy was going to make a mid-engine Corvette most if not all of them went into an uproar. This is possibly because they think all Corvettes should be front-engine. Well apparently Chevy is getting ambitious and wants to attack Italian companies like Ferrari head on. Their answer is the mid-engine Corvette Zora ZR1.
The Zora ZR1 is a mid-engine supercar that will be powered by an unknown aluminum small-block General Motors engine. This engine will deliver an estimated top speed of 200 mph which shows that Chevy is making good progress against the Europeans.
The car's body is rumored to be made of carbon fiber like the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The doors will be made of fiberglass. The suspension is also rumored to be similar to the Z06.
The cost of the Zora ZR1 if it ever makes it into mass-production will be $150,000 which amongst Corvette's is a lot. Let's hope this car drives as good as anything from Europe, especially Italy.
