The 2001-2006 Lamborghini Murcielago

One of Lamborghini's Most Successful Cars

It took a while for Lamborghini to come up with a successor to the famous and incredible Diablo. In 2001 they and a Peruvian-born Belgian named Luc Donckerwolke came up with the answer, the Murcielago. The Murcielago is named after a type of Spanish fighting bull.
The 2001-2006 Murcielago is a mid-engine all-wheel drive supercar or hypercar equipped with a 6.2 liter V-12 that delivers 572 hp. Top speed of the first generation Murcielagos is 206 mph. Naught to sixty-two takes 3.8 seconds which is almost the same as a Marussia B1. The engine is coupled to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed e-Gear semi-automatic. The rear differential is integrated to the engine, with a viscous coupling center differential providing drive to the front wheels.
The 2001-2006 Murcielago uses an independent double-wishbone design. The bodywork uses carbon fibre, steel, and aluminum parts. The rear spoiler and active air intakes placed into the car's shoulders are electromechanically operated. These active air intakes deploy at high speeds to increase aerodynamics and cooling.
The cost of a 2001 to 2005 Murcielago when it first came out was $270,000 in the United States. Unfortunately I couldn't find the price on a 2006 model.
