The 2011 Koenigsegg Agera

2010's Hypercar of the Year As Said by Top Gear Magazine

Forget Italian hypercars if you want raw powerrrrrrr. What you need is a Swedish hypercar for that. What you need is the 2011 Koenigsegg Agera. The word Agera means "to act" or "to take action."
The Koenigsegg Agera is a mid-engine rear-wheel drive car with a powerful 5 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 940 hp at 6,900 rpm and a torque count of 800 lb.-ft. at 4,000 rpm. Top speed is unknown but believed to be above 410 km/h. Wow. The engine weighs 197 kg because of a carbon fiber intake manifold and aluminum construction.
The Agera uses a seven-speed dual clutch flappy paddle gearbox, something that all the boys at British Top Gear especially Jeremy hate for being too safe. However the interesting thing is that it is the very first dual clutch transmission to have only one input shaft. That's cool for all you extreme car nuts. The second clutch slows down the input shaft during up shifts in order to decrease synchronization time to the next gear which gives off faster shift times. That's very similar to the technology found in the Ferrari 458 Italia. The transmission only weighs 81 kg. Lightweight stuff.

(looks like something from Crysis doesn't it?)

Let's talk about structure. The Agera has a body made from carbon fiber/Kevlar featuring lightweight reinforcements. The chassis is also made of carbon fiber with an aluminum honeycomb that comes with integrated fuel tanks for weight distribution and to make things safe. The wheels are made of aluminum and feature center locking and are wrapped around Michelin Super Sport tires that can be used with speeds up to 260 mph. One cool feature is that the Agera's rear wing is electronically adjustable with auto or manual control in order to make things easy between low drag and down force, depending on the driver's situation and mood.
Now for the price. The Agera costs $1.3 million which is almost Ferrari Enzo money. Yikes!
