Scary is a popular word in Ferrari's vocabulary. But recently the people at Ferrari decided to upgrade the already incredible 458 Italia by giving it Ferrari LaFerrari looks and twin-turbochargers. Whoa! Hold on now! Turbochargers!? Did the guys at Ferrari suddenly turn into mindless zombies, or are they still alive, breathing, and thinking correctly. Apparently Ferrari has created a 3.9 liter V-8 with twin-turbochargers because it's cleaner for the environment and for performance reasons. My only worry is that the hissing sound those twin-turbochargers will make when the car is on the go will make buyers of the new Ferrari want their money back. However you can't deny the new car looks even more ridiculous than the old one. Welcome people to the Ferrari 488 GTB. Image result for ferrari 488 gtb
The Ferrari 488 GTB is an Italian mid-engine rear-wheel drive supercar equipped with a 3.9 liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that delivers 660 hp at 8,000 RPM. That is 1,000 RPM less than the old Ferrari 458 Italia it will replace one day. Top speed of the 488 GTB is 205. Naught to sixty takes 3 seconds. The engine is coupled to what is possibly an updated version of the 458 Italia's gearbox with paddle shifters. Torque is at 560 lb-ft @ 3,000 RPM in seventh gear. Image result for ferrari 488 gtb
Differences from the old 458 Italia include three air intakes on the nose as opposed to one large intake on the 458 Italia. The center intake uses vertical struts inspired by F1 technology. The sides have a large intake scallop and triangular carvings on the handle on the door area. The scallops I mentioned are divided into two sections by what some are calling a "splitter-like" piece that helps cool the car. In the rear the taillights are larger, and the grilles connected to them are hollow pieces with black surrounds. The three-pipe exhaust that was in the 458 Italia has been replaced by two outlets placed on each side of the diffuser's center section. A trapezoidal is above the license plate, and the split-diffuser is replaced with a full piece that has an F1-inspired light in the center. Image result for ferrari 488 gtb
No official price on this scary and questionable Ferrari has been given but automobile enthusiasts say it will cost just under $300,000 making it one of the more expensive Ferraris.
