The 2017 Ferrari F12tdf (Tour de France)
Ferrari's Latest Version Of The F12
When Ferrari allowed the original F12 to be revealed to the public, people saw that it was an excellent example of Ferrari belief in a front engine supercar, and that it carried the typical Italian flowing design in it from Pininfarina. Recently though Ferrari has revealed a new F12 called the tdf which is an abbreviation for the legendary Tour de France race that features cars as opposed to bicycles. My worry and a worry for others is this. Does it look a bit too...Corvette like? Perhaps Ferrari saw the latest Corvette Stingray and ZO6 in action and were in such awe and fear that they decided "we need to make a car that looks even better and drives better than those two." If this is even somewhat true then it shows that America can make proper cars despite what a certain someone will say on the television. But enough of that rubbish. LOL. Time to talk about Ferrari facts.
The Ferrari F12tdf is a front engine Italian supercar and grand tourer equipped with an upgraded version of the F12Berlinetta's 6.3 liter naturally aspirated V-12 that delivers 769 hp and 519 feet of torque. Top speed of the F12tdf is still unknown as Ferrari are being stubborn about revealing the top speed. However auto enthusiasts claim it will hit at least 200 mph. Naught to 62 takes 2.9 seconds which is good. Even more interesting is that this is currently the 2nd fastest car around Ferrari's Fiorano test track doing a lap of the track 2 seconds less that the regular F12. The only Ferrari that is faster is the LaFerrari.
The F12tdf most likely uses carbon fibre in the majority of its construction. However one fact I do know is that the car weighs 3,119 pounds due to weight reducing methods used by Ferrari themselves.
Price for the Ferrari F12tdf is $500,000 US dollars, unless you're willing to pay for extras. The main competition will likely come from the 2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV , and the 2014 and 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish which I find hard to believe for the latter.
Anyways I think Ferrari did an excellent job on creating this car. I just wish it didn't look so Corvette-like.
